Annie Grove-White has worked for many years in graphic design and education, and, more recently, in photography. Currently undertaking an MA in Documentary Photography at Newport, her practice revolves around three areas of interest: the meaning of objects and spaces, the notion of ambiguity and the book as an artefact and sequence. Her current work explores the meanings of edgelands and how humans interact with these ambiguous liminal spaces.
Is gender fact or fiction? What is it to be feminine, or masculine, or both? Annie Grove-White presents a collaboration between herself and Frazer, to explore the performative nature of gender and all that it entails – the gesture, the look, the touch, the clothes – the outward appearance that signals ‘woman’.
